72-Hour Real Estate Lead Follow-Up Plan
April 24, 2026 · 8 min read
Short answer: Most paid leads need a first response plus two or three useful follow-ups. The first 72 hours should be structured, source-specific, and easy for the prospect to answer.
The plan
| Moment | Use this |
|---|
| 0–5 minutes | Call/text with source-specific context. |
| Same day | Send one useful next step or alternative. |
| Day 1 | Ask a stage/timing question. |
| Day 3 | Check whether the search/sale is still active. |
| Day 7 | Close the loop politely if no response. |
Avoid this
- long generic drips
- asking five qualification questions at once
- losing the original property/ad context
